Description
yee haw I drew my mc snails!I'm makin like a whole ass mod y'all :000000000000000000
I have another 3 variants of snail other than these three however one of those variants has like 8 sub-variants so I'm not drawing those for a hot minute kgjhslkfjhskl
*Note: All the information listed below is purely conceptual, as I have not even begun writing a single line of code for the mod yet.
(Also I really want 1.16 to come out because that would make this mod so much better for the nether creatures I wanna add hhhhhgghghghgh)
In order of Left -> Right, Top -> Bottom we have:
Sea Snail - These snails are well known for their pearlescent, spiraling shell. They are found almost exclusively in coral reefs, however they have been spotted lurking in or around ocean monuments as well. These snails eat just about any plant matter in the ocean, but if you want to breed them you should feed them sea pickles specifically. If killed they will drop one or two slime balls as well as the occasional prismarine crystal.
Nether Snail - Nether snails are found throughout the nether along the lava banks of the nether where large patches of magma are present, thought they are more common on the banks of warped and crimson forests. Their rough, bumpy shell is used as a form of camouflage to blend into the magma patches on which they reside. They'll eat just about any form of plant/fungi found in the nether (aside from weeping/twisting vines). If you're an aspiring nether snail rancher and you need to breed them, find your nearest fortress and grab a nether wart or two. If killed, a nether snail will drop a few magma cream and might even throw in a bit of blaze powder every now and then.
Forest Snail - The most common of all snails, these are found in all forests of the overworld, but they tend to appear more often in flower biomes and swamps. They are very well known for their broad appetite, as they will eat any form of plant - fruits, vegetables, grass, etc. - aside from vines, saplings, and seeds. If you're looking to breed them though, feeding them any flower should do the trick. If killed a forest snail will drop a handful of slime balls, but not much else.
All snails have a 10% chance of dropping their shell when killed. If you're not open to the concept of snailicide, then worry not! Snail shells can be found in most dungeons that pertain to the region they spawn in.
Sea Snail: Shipwrecks, Ocean Ruins, and Treasure Chests
Nether Snails: Nether Fortresses and Piglin Bartering
Forest Snails: Villages/Villagers and Woodland Mansions
[Not Pictured] Cave Snails: Mob Spawners and Abandoned Mineshafts (*Note, cave snails have different rarities depending on the ore they represent, and their shell spawn rate is no different)
[Not Pictured] End Snails: End Cities
[Not Pictured] Mushroom Snails: These ones are strange bc they'll spawn in any form of dungeon that happens to be beneath a Mushroom Biome
