Description This description is longer and includes the period of the first half of October 2018. The description of the photo itself is the paragraph in bold.

The long voyage entered in the "second stage" for me. I passed Panama Canal for the second time. This time I did not feel excitement at all. The weather was less dynamic and more overcast.
After passing Panama Canal, we started sailing towards Japan. The weather conditions were better than month ago. Despite this, there was one significant threat - hurricanes which were quite close to our route. We monitored very carefully the hurricanes Rosa and Sergio (both Category 4), because our route was close to Gulf of Tehuantepec and Baja California (actually we sailed along them).

I took this photo on 6th of October. It shows a Cumulonimbus cloud with a visible anvil, i.e. an active thunderstorm. In comparison to the hurricanes, such a storm is harmless, lasting around 40-60 minutes. Visibility was excellent. Mexican Coast was visible and I could see it (outside the photo, in right direction).

Then, a day or two later, in the evening I saw a very bright object which looked like a comet and the sky became almost white for a few minutes and in the next half of hour fading slowly. Unfortunately I was unable to take a photo, because I missed the brightest part and it was dark enough to be able to take a short exposure photo. I thought several months that this was a comet, but from what I read, this was a SpaceX flight (we were located western from Baja California).

The hurricane Sergio crossed our route, fortunately two days behind our ship and we did not have any problems. After that we altered the route and started crossing the Pacific Ocean on the 32th Parallel in order to evade cyclones instead of sailing on the Great Circle. This decision was good and we did not have any significant problems with the weather and rough seas at all.
