OK, THIS is the last of my CURRENT TAWOG concept sketches, but it's of someone you've already seen from me. Yep, it's Penny, only without her peanut shell on. This is at least what she looks like underneath that salty (is it salted?) exterior to me...and a lot of other people apparently. After all, she IS a PEANUT-MOOSE, not just a walking peanut with antlers.

It's based off of a drawing made by...somebody, I guess, and for the most part, it seemed pretty accurate. Thing is though, it's hard to pinpoint who made it originally (and NO, it was NOT one of the creators. So far, they haven't even given the slightest hint as to what she looks like in there), and there are at least three different versions that I know of: a clean version, a pixilated (spelled right?) version purely for the sake of being accurate to the show (they use pixilization for nudity...don't know why, they don't exactly have to draw anything. In fact, IS THERE EVEN ANYTHING THERE!? ANSWER ME CARTOON NETWORK!!!!!!), and a...well, not-so-clean version (pretty crude actually).

Personally, I prefer the clean version...AND "THE AIR!!!" (I need to stop doing that...BUT I WON'T!!! XD). Here's a [link] to the clean version. I also like the pixilated version, though it is VERY hard to see the pixels. Still, I like it cause it sticks true to the show...which I still question, but it's better than Total...Drama...ISLAND!!! The dirty one...I don't even want to say it. Basically, there are...added parts that clearly weren't there to begin with and were clearly drawn on by sick perverts...very poorly may I add.

There is also at least one sketch of her with clothes on. In fact, here's a [link] §ion=&global=1&qenny+fitzgerald+unshelled#/d4xi94w to it, made by fellow deviant spoonythatscareful (SHOUT OUT!!! ^^). It's simple, but easier to look at.

Anyway, on to my version. I did a rendition of the clean version, as well as the clothed version, and the shelled/normal version. In order to capture the show's creativity, I tired to add pixels to Penny's not-really-there-but-still-acknowledged private areas, but I've never drawn pixels before, so I suck at it. I did leave them in an open space with arrows showing where they would go, but for the most part, I just drew her as is, it's not like I was going to draw anything there anyway (I'm on to you, perverts...). I then did spoony's version of her with a cheerleader uniform on, which I have to say, fits her personality very well (not the jerky-cheerleader stereotype, but her dreams of being a cheerleader). Then, I drew her with her shell on, which was a little more challenging than before, since this time I actually wanted to make it PROPORTIONATE to the size and shape of her actual body and head. Also I put a little sketch at the top showing how her shell comes off...pretty much like any other peanut shell.

This was slightly awkward, but it's also rewarding, as now one of the most unnecessarily complicated simple-to-draw characters I like now makes sense to me...more or less. I just hope that the creators of the show will take a tab from the MLP creators and actually corporate fan feedback into the show, making this her official appearance underneath. But again, I wouldn't get my hopes up, this IS Cartoon Network after all. They haven't exactly been the best at getting their act together in these last couple of years (WHY DO YOU HATE ROBOTS, CN!!?? WHY!!!!????).

I'll color this in eventually, but since it's just concept art, I think it's okay to leave for now.

Well, I'll leave you for now...this will probably be the last one until I come back two weeks from now. So until then...

The Amazing World of Gumball, Penny, and all The Amazing World of Gumball Characters (c) Ben Bocquelet

*UPDATE*: WOW! Has anybody seen the new TAWOG episode, The Knights, yet? Penny's got a new design, and it is amazing!! She's "shaplier" (like a peanut...is that even a word?), her shell is a different texture and color, her antlers are...smaller, and she's ...shorter than she used to be.......HUH?...Oh whatever! It's still the same peanut moose that we all know and love. I guess she just decided to wear a "new" shell, got her antlers...trimmed (moose can do that, right?), and I guess Gumball...grew a couple of inches since last season?......Well, anyway, it's an interesting new redesign and I like it so far, and I love the episode even more!! Not 100% Gumball/Penny fan service, but it's more than what they gave us in the last season, just what we always wanted from a new season. And since this character has been given a "shell-lift", that can only mean one thing for me: TIME FOR A CONCEPT UPDATE!!!!!!
