Exactly! I was thinking Beyond as soon as I saw this. I love that short. I understand he is a bit of a perfectionist and spent almost 2 years on it. I have his 'Orange' art book. It is great.

At first glimpse I thought it was a screenshot from beyond, animatrix..
especially because she has the exact same hair colour and eyecolour and the lighting looks the same too.
I know it's maybe not you who designed the character but you should've maybe chosen a scene less refering to the movie..(the birds flying and the girl surprised) or another colour scheme..
otherwise really well done : ) the background is beautifully executed!
