The creature from the new Cloverfield movie, best as I can remember it.Yeah... a few days have passed and I'm beginnign to realize more and more inaccuracies in my vers.

I saw this movie late last night and I was terrified. You did a really wonderful picture considering this was all done from memory.
I've got a question though- what do you think those little things that fell off of it were? Obviously they were alive, but to me they resembled giant spiders.

oooh really cool, but when i saw it it had more of a flat pug nose kinda face if ya ask me, and instead of teeth (it had those) but it had two large prominant mandibals from its lower jaw up front. but hey, thats my take on it XD;

Here is what I had originally heard (months ago) from some people who I know who worked on some of the concept 3D modeling and texturing:
The little lice fall of the monster we see in the city--but THAT fell off of an even bigger monster that was never put into the film. And people who were bitten turned into beak-faced critters.
Weather that stuff was just generated for hype or weather certain things were just cut from the film for $ or time, I couldn't tell you.

Amazing work with this, yet I must point out a few details I noticed...
1) The gills are mounted on either side of the back of the head, it seemed, rather than the neck.
2) The teeth seemed to be directly joined to the jaw, larger (refer to a tiger's teeth), and were of the same tone as the flesh.
3) The legs seemed to be a bit larger.
Other than that, it's flawless. Congratulations.

Yea, like a tadpole but sideways like <> that. Im glad what it looked like was kept so secretive. It made it all the better. And im doubly glad it wasnt a friggin mutated whale. >.< that would have sucked.
In my opinion, it has to be of alien origin or some kind of horrible mutation. Invader Zim would have been pissed if this thing beat him to world domination.

Apparently Abrams is planning to release a toy or model of Clover someday, so it'll be interesting to see how close everyone was to the actual design, although I think this is one of the best ones I've seen so far.
