As you know, in the area of the Zone, such a thing as transport has remained in the form of a rotting piece of metal, and driving has become unfashionable (with one exception) and the inhabitants prefer walking and running to maintain their shape.

Unfortunately, such an occupation is quite dangerous for a person, given the size of the territory and the aggression of the inhabitants. Fortunately, people, in particular for military needs, have created combat versions of cars, for transportation and support of infantry. Such machines showed themselves very well in the first stages of the study, allowing them to repel the attacks of Ghouls.

But at the same time, problems were revealed. It turned out that the armor of the cars was not enough to hold the damage. Well, here I'm sorry that the designers did not assume that they would have to fight not only with fast creatures armed with swords and powerful rifles, but also with giants. It also turned out that the 50. caliber turrets are effective, but one such is clearly not enough.

More powerful machines and weapons, alas, cannot be obtained because of the agreement, since people have such a skill as "ingenuity". More turrets were put on the cars, armored plates were cooked in order to have greater efficiency.

Most of the fleet includes Humvee cars and a Vodnik car. If the first one was widely known for its characteristics and application, then the second one became a kind of emigrant, and quite good. The GAZ-3937 was a fairly powerful machine: high cross-country capability, roominess and armament in the form of a "Kord" or KPVT played a role, making it essentially a local tank. For greater efficiency, in addition to armored personnel carriers, some began to install a QLZ-87 grenade launcher in order to throw explosive gifts at the enemy.

The other part consisted of civilian vehicles (usually pickups and vans) with welded armor and armament. In addition to transporting and supporting infantry, they are also used for transporting things and small sorties.

You can see such a column moving around the city quite often. All these cars driving through the broken asphalt, turrets raised up and people looking at both. The chance that the column will meet the enemy is quite high, as is the probability of seeing one or the entire column of destroyed vehicles.
