Description
In September 1939, after the German-Soviet Pact signature between Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, both countries invaded by surprise Poland. However, after a month of fights, Poland pushed back both German and Soviet armies. How ?
Right after independence of Poland in the end of WW1, the government secretly developed country's military, while showing a peaceful appearance to the rest of the globe. Scientists from Central and Eastern Europe (Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla...) came to Warsaw to support the country against its threatening neighbours: Nazi Germany of Adolf Hitler and Soviet Union of Joseph Stalin. Both never hid their expansionnist ambitions and Poland is in the heart of these two worlds.
In 1937, an unknown earthquake was recorded in Antarctica: it was the first atomic bomb which exploded, since Poland strangely created an expedition to Antarctica. As the first trial was successful, Poland was now ready to create more of these bombs and to prepare itself for the next war. In parallel, the country developed its own technological weapons (tanks, cannons, etc.) thanks to French and British partnership.
Back to October and November 1939, where Polish forces pushed Germans back to Berlin and Soviets to Minsk. Since Poland don't want a war which could last until winter, Poland sent a strong message to both belligerents: the Polish Army destroyed the cities of Potsdam (Germany) and Tula (USSR) to force both countries to surrender or to expect a flood of similar bombs.
Afraid that the war could annihilate Germany and Soviet Union from the map, France and Britain try to negociate ceasefire between Germany, Soviet Union on a side, and Poland on another. However, Hitler and Stalin refused to surrender to a "small country" and are willing to continue. A third bomb destroyed Hamburg and a fourth Stalingrad. Since no one could do anything against this superweapon, Germans and Russians removed their leaders to force surrender.
In February 1940, Germany and Soviet Union officially surrendered to Poland, with a war which killed 3 million people (1.5 million in Soviet Union, 1 million in Germany and 0.5 million in Poland). Stalin and his Party were severely judged and hanged on the Red Place, as well as Hitler and his collaborators, hanged in front of the Reichstag.
In March 1940, Poland installed Polish Governors as Heads of European USSR and Germany. In April 1940, other nations, admiring Poland's strength, decided to be Polish allies (Baltics states, Czechoslovakia...). One year later, almost all of Eastern Europe was member of Poland's Commonwealth. Poland gave independence to Ukraine, Belarus and countries from the Caucasus, while the Eastern part of USSR is now a democracy allied with USA, crushing Japanese Empire with China's support.
Due to Hitler's fall, Fascist Italy didn't last long and Mussolini lost his war against Greece and Albania, being removed from the government.
Poland's Commonwealth is officially gathering 17 nations, which aim for common peace, prosperity and promotion of democracy. Germany and Russia, still General Governments, are negociating for their independence, conditionned by their demilitarization and the renouncement of expansionnism. This is the first association of European Nations in the continent, opening a page for Europe unity.
However, France and Britain see this new Commonwealth as a threat to their power in Europe: now that Poland is the best army in Europe, the country is aiming now to the international. Bitter after France and Britain's inaction to Czechoslovakia, Lithuania and Poland's invasion, the Commonwealth decided to oppose the West with a new model, promoting even independence to Western colonies (India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Ghana, Syria, Algeria...). Maybe a new world war is preparing, but with Poland having the nuclear weapon, Paris and London are vulnerable for the moment...
