The forest was dense, and the trees loomed high above me, casting long shadows on the ground. I had been wandering for hours, lost in this labyrinth of greenery. And then, I saw it. A tree, covered in a thick layer of mushrooms, like a disease had spread over it.

But as I approached it, something seemed wrong. The mushrooms were pulsating, as if they were alive. And then I saw them. Faces, dozens of them, growing out of the side of the tree. They were grotesque, with twisted expressions and gaping mouths.

And then, the eyes opened. All of them at once, like a choir of voices coming to life. They started chanting, a low, rhythmic hum that seemed to fill the air. And then the spores came, a thick cloud of dust that billowed out from the tree, engulfing me.

I tried to hold my breath, but it was too late. I could feel them filling my lungs, clogging my throat. I started coughing, and as I did, I felt something inside me shift. It was like the spores had taken root in my body, and were growing, multiplying.

I could feel it spreading, creeping through my veins like a disease. I tried to fight it, to run away, but it was too late. Vines and branches started sprouting from my skin, like the tree was trying to absorb me into itself.

I was trapped, no longer in control of my own body. I was becoming another face on the tree, another victim of its cursed growth. And as the last of my consciousness slipped away, I could hear the chanting growing louder, as if the faces on the tree were celebrating their newest addition.
