Beside the glittering festive tree

With a flash and a flicker, the moment was sealed
a memory now, yet forever revealed
The air was fragrant with cinnamon and clove
an aroma that I have come to love
As we sat, in our holiday attire
beside the roaring yule log fire
Goose, with eyes of golden glow
purred softly, nestled in the snow-white throw
Her purrs filled the room with a comforting sound
a melody of Christmas, all year round
Oh, the joy of that Christmas past
a memory forever bound to last
In the warmth of that festive day
my heart, forever, shall stay
Though I wander in a world so strange
those memories of home will never change
