Helloooooo another remake of this classic piece and wow how things have changed and wow I have gotten better over the years at drawing. THIS ALL LOOKS SO PRETTYYYYYYYYY!!! I’m really happy and proud of the final result. This took about 4 days but ehhhhhhh pretty. So it’s them, the deceptive 4: Deca, Yellow, Sh.man and Scarfie. The main players of the story for the comic (plus Zink but she's not part of the deceptive 4 other than her association with Deca, the others are also associates but not as important)
Now, let’s talk about…. ~Stuff about the characters and how they have changed (they have changed ALOT and mild spoilers but also kinda communicated in the drawing), wooow~
So the forms of deception are important to the story of the comic. It still basically works like this:

Exterior Interior
=Appearance =Emotional
=Ability. =Mental
(I didn't write it tho cuz the drawing looked better without the words in it)
So let's start off with the more exterior features of deception, Appearance and Ability. These are more surface level and dependant on the environment. These two are also, surprise surprise, weaker than the interior two

=Name: Deca, Alias: Hii-chan, female (she/her), represents appearance and mannerisms, stuck in a cycle
--Deca changes the way she acts to control the situation around her, mostly to lower people and creature's expectations to get the upper hand. Depending on the situation, she'll act a certain way to either put less attention onto herself or more so. Deca is the safest out of the four to be around since she doesn't intend on hurting humans, in fact, she'll do her best to keep people alive. Unfortunately, Deca ends up never really acting like herself around others, even when completely safe, due to constantly needing to do this to survive and to feel in control. The only one who really knows Deca is Zink and even then, Deca will try to hide what she’s dealing with to keep Zink safe and not get her involved.

Even though she can put up a fight and has experience dealing with anomalies, she's physically the weakest out of the four.

=Name: ???, Alias: Scarfie/Sword/The Surreptitious killer (probably changing this one but eh), agender (doesn't care, they or it is fine), represents ability, Deca's biggest hater
--Scarfie uses their body and environment to toy with their victim and attack them (at least, more reliant and specific to this compared to others). Scarfie uses lures, traps and secrets within the realm to catch victims off guard and their body can shape-shift, allowing them to move quickly and silently in their domain and piercing the victims with sharp blades and weapons. Scarfie does what it does out of curiosity or to protect their domain from outsiders and survive.

Now the Interior features, Emotional and mental. These guys are way stronger and cut you deeper (they got emotional intelligence and use it against you). Environment barely influences their deception and they go for long-term (they both immortal). They are both shapeshifters (Yellow is partial, he can change shape but can't change mass. Meanwhile Sh.man is a complete shapeshifter, can look like and do anything, usually appearing in the form of the victim). They both try to build a connection with their victim, usually through dreams (since they don’t exist in the physical world)

= Name: ???, Alias: Yellow/ The most Incredible Illusionist, genderfluid (depends on how Yellow's presenting, he/she/they), represents emotional manipulation, dream demigod who would die laughing
--Yellow attacks you emotionally. He will try to develop an emotional connection with people, rarely out of genuinely wanting a connection but mostly to get them dependent and to control them. He'll make you feel special and give you anything you want, but you slowly lose more and more of your own control and freedom. He also adjusts his realm and his own personality to best suit you so you like having him around even more. However, you can actually bargain your fate with him and negotiate (he would be second safest to be around, at least in the beginning). He's interested in the physical world and wouldn't mind learning stuff about the victim. His goals lie in wanting to create, have adventures, gain knowledge and be loved, all kinda connecting to wanting to be free. However however, he's still a bit of a wild card. You could be the most interesting person in the world and he could end up changing his mind and trying to control you (which can lead to death in the physical world), other times he completely leaves you alone.

=Name: Murena (I'm liking this one but not sure), Alias: so many aaa, male (he/they), represents mental manipulation, essentially god and a dad
--Sh.man is capable of influencing what you see, hear and sense (touch), even control your emotions, but he will influence you mostly through mental manipulation. He makes your own mind turn on you, villainises you, and makes you question your reality. The incredibly dangerous thing about him is, he makes himself out as a friend and someone who wants you to become better but then uses your vulnerabilities to put you down and make you completely hopeless. Almost all his victims end up committing suicide.

Even though he is willing to go to the extremes and do what humans would call ‘evil’, he believes he is doing this to better the world. He bases his actions on patterns and what he sees in the future. He does all this to test humanity’s mental strength and if they pass the test, they end up being a candidate for a project that would improve the future for all. He also has little helpers on the surface world who have a strong bond with him and are loyal towards him. They’re usually not involved in the victim’s life but these helpers sometimes guide the humans in the right direction, either to better their life or help further drive victims into insanity.
Murena is easily the strongest out of all of them, he got mega buffed.

Murena tries to manipulate the other 3 but he especially has trouble manipulating Yellow, who's had plenty of experience both being the manipulator and being manipulated, who recognises what he's doing. Unfortunately, Yellow is an integral part of Murena's plans so it's essentially these two trying to out-manipulate the other. Great.
