Those look like recycled wreckage. Could they be old reentry capsules or lifeboats refurbished for an exotic housing market, or perhaps a design of either intended to be possible to live in for an extended period of time? The title indicates a military function, but the lived-in appearance and lack of obvious weapons or intelligence-gathering equipment suggests it could as well be a civilian installation - a little homely corner of an estate where code and discipline are nevertheless strong aspects of everyday work. Perhaps a ranger, or a game warden?
A game warden frowning as he peers through his binoculars, starting to worry that the elk are getting increasingly bold around the cabin. Especially as this is probably a world where an "elk" has six legs and can spit venom up to sixty metres.
