Description
Sketches drawn during a life drawing session hosted at L'Atelier Montmarte in Paris, France, the 26/11/2023.
Pose durations ranged from 2 minutes to 25 minutes.
Model: Coralie
As you can guess, the model was a contortionist. She was probably suffering a lot during some of these poses, yet I've never seen a model smile so consistently throughout the session. Unreal.
Other than that, I had a goal today : use charcoal exactly as I would use ink.
No construction line. No erasing. No soft pressure. Just going full power on my first tries. As expected, the 2 consequences of the exercise are that :
- my ink drawings are difficult to distinguish from my charcoal drawings. Look at the 2-min sketches at the top left. 2 of them use ink, can you tell ?
- Overall the line quality is so much cleaner than usual
- Proportions suffered a lot, since I didn't have construction lines to place and check my volumes.
- My space management suffered too. A lot of drawings were cut because it was the end of the page. ^^
