Alright, so let's talk. This is the first area where you'll encounter enemies, specifically old refinery drones. They're not quite happy to see intruders. Canonically, this game talks place fifty years after the events of The Devil's Doorway Part II (unpublished, but that'll change soon). VERY few organic lifeforms have visited the refinery zone since that story. These drones are in security mode. Put 2 and 2 together.There are hatches on the ground. That's where the drones spawn out of. I hope to add in animations to them as they "climb" out of the hatches. You'll fight off a horde of the drones before proceeding to the next area. THE SPAWN SYSTEM WORKS. So, yeah, testing was fun earlier. Damn near crapped myself when a robot came up behind me. Didn't do anything since the health system isn't implemented yet. But the bots DO chase you and they are FAST. I'll tweak some of that later. For now, the next step is to keep building out the path for player squads to traverse. Once that's done, finish adding in spawners. Then the weapon system. Then health and unalive system. Other than that, I'll be dotting the landscape with various downed ships, refinery debris, greebles, etc. Make it look less boring.
Also, if anyone wants to read the Devil's Doorway, I'll be setting up a new subscription tier. those partaking in the new tier (It'll be $3 OR $5, unsure yet) will get to read see art and read literature that was never published, or even new stuff that I'm working on (like Shadows of Verdara).
