It's been shown throughout the series(Games) that Sonic has been to use elements and magic a few times with Wind being his Main Element.

Axe Kick(Kick attacks)
Sonic produces Fire whenever he uses kick attacks as shown in the art of Sonic battle and in the Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Windmill move.

Insta-Shield
A wind based move that allows Sonic to extend his Attack range and protects him from Harm. From Sonic 3 and Knuckles, to the Advance games, to Generations, to Sonic Mania. One of the games even calls it a Wind move. while the move is in the Archie and Fleetway Comics, I like how the Fleetway UK Comics explains how Sonic could produce the Move.

LightSpeed Dash/Attack/Charge
This a Thunder/lightning based move/attack since well this allows Sonic to move and attack at Lightspeeds(though Sonic can move faster than light on his own now) not to mention that if you Swap Amy out and replace her with Sonic into the Zero Boss fight, Sonic's light Speed Charging electrocutes Zero.
