Description
I absolutely loved Autodesk Sketchbook Pro - the paid for version. But this morning, when I went to work on these scanned in drawings I was met with a message saying that it's no longer available, but the free version is, that is now called 'Pro'.The free version is a bit glitchy and it lacks some or the tools I was used to, such as changing colour, contrast, and so on.
So, I'm going to have to move to another (or some other) app(s)/program(s).
I, after a few hours of wrangling with the software, edited/cleaned up these two pen drawings in Clip Studio Paint, and added colour, texture and background using the same package.
I loved the intuitive interface of Sketchbook, All these different menus and all the clicks that need to be done. Setting up my own palette(s) in the program doesn't seem to be a straightforward thing. But it's a lot less obscure than Adobe products.
I'm frustrated and gutted in equal amounts. But I'm also grateful in a weird way as I'm now being forced to use other software that may have more powerful options in it.
I've certainly been well and truly booted out of my comfort zone, without any warning at all I hasten to add.
So, onwards and upwards and after breakfast (it's about 2:30pm here in the UK and I got so engrossed in this problem that I forgot to have breakfast!) I may wrangle with this some more.
I'm tempted to try out Corel Paint ...it wouldn't cost much more monthly than the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro did ... but it depends on if it's more intuitive to use than that which I already have.
