"Wicked" is a fairly amazing musical. The book it came from is harsh but an engaging twist on the Oz story from the perspective of the witches.This image was a concept sketch I did entirely in photoshop based on Elphaba's (wicked witch of the west) first broom flight.

Yes, the book was harsh, but that's why I liked it ^-^ I am looking forward to seeing the musical next year. My choir is going to New York. But this is an amazing concept work of art.

Loved the book and the play. I saw the play when they came to Detroit(my hometown). The book was dark, and gloomy, but it was still pretty good. The play was a complete opposite, but then dark plays don't seem to do too well for 'normal folks' who have the money to see the play...(gladly would've gone if it was different-BUT-Mom wouldn't have let me go probably if it was just like the book...)
The picture is awesome. And again, I call next.

I love the whole perspective and everything. From what I've seen on YouTube (never seen the musical live, BUT planning to) it looks like a very detailed version of it. ^^

This is great, i love the book, and it's sequel. I'm doing a project in my Art class right now about redesigning book covers and I chose Wicked for mine, we are also going to do movie posters for the books.

Wow! Great perspective. I am also a lover of Wicked (the bestest best play on the whole planet Earth), and have such difficulty drawing Elphaba. No pose really seems to fit her character the way I would like it too. That is why this is just so cool. Love it! Hearts for Elphie

i looooove this drawing! it's really well done. haha, i saw the london production of Wicked, and i have to agree, it's amazing. the book is... it's okay. i'm not finished with it yet, but so far i like the musical better. they're both so different, though...
anyways, back to the art. haha. anyways, i love the way you drew her expression. it looks really cool! i also love how you colored the skin. i've noticed that some people make elphaba's skin waaaay too bright.. but yours looks perfect! i also love the motion in the picture, but i have to wonder: what fell behind? at first i thought it was her hat, but then i saw that her hat was on her head? haha, i really want to know!

"Defy Gravity was my absolute favorite song out of the whole play. But it was sad because I saw it after they replaced the original cast. SO I didn't get to see it with Christian or Idina.
