sorry I am not good at explaining
but I can give you a few suggestions though.
Well first, you should try to have full control with your mouse,
therefore you could have smoother and more natural looking lines.
For shading, I suggest you looking up tutorials, or speed paints on youtube
or you can just look at other artists' art to see how shadows work.
let me just borrow this tutorial for a sec [link]
you can see that the shadow of the hair is not just a blob of a darker colour,
they look like strokes that follow the lines.
to start off, I suggest you to try cell shading at first,
ex:[link] , you see how the shadows are not blurred in with the base colour?
It makes your drawings look cleaner, and this is really the basic for shading.
It is very important to know how shadows work,
just look at your clothes, and examine the folds, the angles /etc
take a look at the shadings in these drawings by different artists
[link] , [link] , [link] , [link] .
the more you look at, the better idea you'll have about how shadows work.
I used to stare at drawings for hours when I can't figure things out,
and I still do.
Don't worry or be discorcouraged, just keep on practising.
