Yeah knitting would be best xD I could do anything and say "hey it's from wool so it's sheep" xD But I'm really awful in knitting xD Like Baymax with baloons (dunno if You seen Big Hero 6 movie, but search on Youtube baymax and baloons )

I haven't seen Big Hero 6, but it is on the list to see eventually. It has been a while since I did any knitting myself ... Not tempted to give it a try, especially if I have to use balloons!

I probably will see it eventually ... I tend to see movies when they come out on DVD instead of in the theater unless Becca wants to see them too.

ArunaWolf In reply to Tizrak [2015-01-27 15:39:09 +0000 UTC]
Well I'm going to cinema only on movies with lots of special effects liek Avengers, X-men etc. or Disney movies ('cause I simply love them ) Rest I can see on DVD

Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-01-27 21:32:23 +0000 UTC]
Makes sense to me! There are certain movies well worth seeing on the big screen, but others ... well, you can buy them and have them forever for half the price of seeing them once in the theater.

Yeah But some movies are good only in cinema...like Avatar xDD
My friend told me that Pacific Rim looks gorgeous on IMAX screen, unfortunately I've seen it only on my tv :<

Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-02-01 17:32:07 +0000 UTC]
I haven't seen Avatar yet, I have to admit. I can imagine that Pacific Rim would have been a real treat on the big screen!

ArunaWolf In reply to Tizrak [2015-02-03 10:37:47 +0000 UTC]
Well I didn't watch Avatar in cinema, I've seen part of it in tv and I must say it's pretty but nothing outstanding. But I heard it really was something in cinema
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-02-04 13:05:34 +0000 UTC]
"Nothing outstanding, but really great in the cinema" is pretty much the definition of a special effects movie. By those standards Pacific Rim was a pretty good movie in that it actually had some plot and characterization.
But I am somewhat of a movie snob, I admit.

ArunaWolf In reply to Tizrak [2015-02-11 12:43:01 +0000 UTC]
I liked Pacific Rim event if I've seen it only on tv - yes it was mostly effects and plot was light but I kinda like movies like that. I watch movies for fun. I don't watch "deep" ones because it really makes mess from my psychic :< After watching Pan's Labirynth I couldn't stop crying...and I was in state like that a week Maybe it's because I'm very emotional person ?
So for my own good I watch only "light" movies

Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-02-11 12:56:04 +0000 UTC]
I know what you mean! Recently my girlfriend and I went to see "The Imitation Game", and I ended up crying at the ending myself. It was a very emotional movie, with a terribly painful ending. It was good ... but it wasn't a fun sort of good.
But it's only fair, she went to see Godzilla with me, and Guardians of the Galaxy too. I guess they can't all be light and fun movies.

People have different tastes for movies My boyfriend dosen't really like all this super-heroes movies like Transformers, Avengers, Green Lantern, Wolverine...but still I drag him to cinema (he must love me much xD) on movies like that
He likes Guy Ritchie movies - watched few with him, they wasn't bad We have some movies we want to watch together like Hobbit, Guardians of the Galaxy or series like Constantine, Game of thrones. But sometimes when I propose smth there is "hell nooooooooooooo"
I told him that Penny Dreadful is great serial, he watched it and said it's awful

Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-02-21 15:38:16 +0000 UTC]
My girlfriend and I don't have the same tastes, but we have some overlap - I dragged her to Guardians of the Galaxy and she enjoyed it, she dragged me to The Imitation Game and I found it very interesting (and very sad). I did draw the line at Les Miserables, though - she described the plot to me point by point from memory, and it just didn't sound like something I would enjoy at all. I'd hate to damage her enjoyment by not enjoying one of her favorites!
I am glad you and your boyfriend can have fun with each other's movies ... It's good for couples to share hobbies.
I haven't tried Penny Dreadful - what is it about?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ArunaWolf In reply to Tizrak [2015-02-25 13:32:04 +0000 UTC]
Penny Dreadful is set in dark Victorian era. You have most famous characters from that time: dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Grey, Dracula, etc. Plot seems simple - Mina Harker was abducted by Dracula and Her father tries desperatly to find Her. With each episode we learn something from the past of main chars, and their motives.
For me it was very interesting ^^

Thanks for the explanation! I will have to add it to the list of shows to look into.
Unfortunately things are crazy busy here right now, so I better get back to grading ... I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

I was always wondering how are people feel when You are teacher and You grade Your students works I bet You had some funny momments when grading
I remember that in first class of high school after my first history exam my teacher told me that I have terrible handwrirring and if I write again exam like that she will give me worst note without checking because she spent 4 hours trying to encode what I wrote xDD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-03-08 16:13:45 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes ... last year I had a student talk about how ionic compounds like salt were all very dangerous because of being explosives. *winces* Exploding salt?
I have had some students with truly poor handwriting, but the things like exploding salt or the student who wanted to write her exam in French and have me translate it are definitely more funny!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ArunaWolf In reply to Tizrak [2015-03-10 15:42:58 +0000 UTC]
Exploding salt ? That must be interesting You are chemistry teacher ?
Well my handwriting is not bad 'cause I trained to little...it's opposite - I wrote that much on lessons that I minimalized my handwriting to be able to write faster. It's like EKG line xD Straight line whicvh goes up and down
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-03-11 12:24:51 +0000 UTC]
I am indeed a chemistry teacher. Everyone's favorite subject, right?
Your handwriting sounds like fun! A lot of my students just squiggle their handwriting all over the paper - very decorative, but not much information encoded ...

ArunaWolf In reply to Tizrak [2015-03-12 09:21:06 +0000 UTC]
Well my father loved non-organic chemistry - he loved to blow things in the air xDD
Me..not really Maybe it's 'cause my teachers never showed any experiments :< They made chemy pretty boring. Only experiment I saw was when my father showed burning magnesium in form of vulcano
Lots of people in class wanted to borrow my notes at start 'cause I had best ones, I managed to note almost every word of my teachers But after seeing my handwriting they were like "uh..oh...can You translate this for us ? " xDDD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-03-16 11:52:58 +0000 UTC]
Chemistry definitely isn't for everyone - it really varies from person to person how much they love it. I love it greatly, and that enthusiasm is often a big help to my students! This semester has been a bit of a trial, though - we lost so many days due to snow that I am forced to remove all the fun stuff to catch up.
There are computer programs now you can train to recognize and translate handwriting. That could be a big help to people, though I fear that it will just make their handwriting worse!

I remember that in winter time when I was still going to school I was often hoping that school will be closed due to to much snow... but it never happened QQ I prefered staying home and read books
My boyfriend as His engineering work made program which could recognize people signature

Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-03-20 13:50:05 +0000 UTC]
This semester alone I have lost around seven days to snow ... The rest of the world is having one of the hottest years on record. Irony is not dead.
That is cool! I wish him good luck, as many signatures are just a squiggle.

Do You have spring now ?

Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-03-29 13:31:17 +0000 UTC]
I guess if writing spam is what pays his share of the rent and food bills, writing spam is what he needs to do. It's better than a lot of the alternatives ...
While we have had a couple of warm days, yesterday was around -1 or -2 degrees Celsius. I just can't call it spring yet. Still, there's no snow, so overall I will call that a win! How about with you all?

Well by past 2 weeks we had beautiful weather around +13 to +18 Celsius but now from 2 days it's raining whole time and we have like +7 Celsius :< I miss those warm days already xD In Poland we have ols saying " w marcu jak w garncu" which is hard to translate.. hmm - in March like in jar ? It means that March is like soup - You have everything in jar, and in March You have everything...sun, rain, snow ;D
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tizrak In reply to ArunaWolf [2015-04-03 12:48:04 +0000 UTC]
There are areas of the U.S. which have a similar saying about March. "Don't like the March weather? Wait fifteen minutes, it will change."
I hope you are back to the beautiful weather! It was great here yesterday, but today it is cold and drizzly again. Ah well, perhaps it will be better in another fifteen minutes ...

Glad you had a relaxed Easter! Days off are essential ...
For me it was Passover instead of Easter, but Passover is still a wonderful feast day. I spent the day before with my Dad and my girlfriend (they met for the first time) and Passover with my mom, then the day after with a bunch of friends. It was a good weekend.

I'd rather it be a shorter walk to the nearest loaf of bread than to the nearest bear.
