So, this tutorial explains roughly what is to know when drawing a wolf. Also, I added a section on how to "characterize" your wolf in order to turn it into a character. Aaand yep. Cheetah is silly.
Also, did you guess which character is which in the minigame?

1)Your tutorial is amazing Arven but if I try to copy it, won't my drawing style look the same as yours? How do I draw in a way that is unique to me?
2) How do ya know if you have drawn anatomy correctly?
Ok, now i will try and guess which charater is which
1) Has to be Orca. She very rarely smiles, and always has that...bored look. (She's my fave 'cause we have similar personalities)
2) Moytl. 'Cause only she has side fur like that. (Is that what its called? Side fur?)
3)C.Y, deffinately. 4. cant be her, 'cause their side fur is too rounded. 5. cant be her, only one charater looks like that. 6. Nope. Side fur is too pointy. 7. No, ears are the wrong shape.
4) Is Kuma, he is the only one who would have that worried/anxious look on his face, also his nose gives it away.
5) Led. There just isn't a wolf like him. And he has quite exagerrated and round side fur. And his eyes are narrow/slim
6)Cheetah! he has three sharp points for his side fur and his ears are quite tall.
7)Heilo. His ears are a differant shape.
Whew, sorry long comment, just wanted to prove I was paying attention! Lol

2) Wish I had a dog, a really want a husky but I have a cat so... anyway i will compare my pictures to other real wolf pictures... it seems like the best opition.
I gt them all right! No way! No. 5 was easiest because Led has that unique look.
Can ask you something else? Your comic inspired me to draw a comic of my own, but I need a main charater. Like you pointed out, ready made lineart isn't good for that. But my freehand drawing...is a little, well...not very good. I'm used to coping a picture. My main charater is a wolf but I need your advice...how do I go about creating a charater with a unique look and personality? Hope you don't mind giving me some ideas/tips or just something? Sorry...

Okay so:

Well, to create a good character, even before you start drawing, I'd say you have it planned in your mind
Be very detailed with the attitude and personality, you'll need those when making his physical outfit, because very often, the way we look reflects our personality, and this can be applied to animal characters as well as humans.
Is your character strong? muscular? Or skinny and vulnerable? Is (s)he brave, or cunning? or clumsy, or coward? Is (s)he skinny or fat? or average? Is it a pup or a youngster? or an adult, or an elder? There are so many possibilities, you just need to make your pick!
Then, after your character is well defined in words, drawing the sketch will be rather easy
If, for example, the character is brave and usually fights for his own rights, he will have a solid, secure pose, would probably be rather muscular, and would hold his head and tail high to show his dominance. On the contrary, a character that had a devastating past, who is usually shy and reluctant to fight, often picked on and emarginated, will have a culed up, wonky stance, with head and ears low, probably a sad expression, and tail between his legs
My suggestion is to investigate, to find the character that suits you the most, in words first, then in physical aspect

I am drawing a comic with my friend (she is also on deviant art) And I both of our charaters are in in. You tutorial was fab and I have found drawing wolfs A LOT simpler.
