Description
A replacement to the aging Transit Modular Cargo Conveyor. The Freedom II goes back to an experimental product line that failed to take off when the company was locked in a legal battle early on in the production of the Freedom Modular Cargo system that resulted in the forfeiture of the production rights to the modular cargo system. Only the prototypes and first production run of the Freedom vessels had made it to market as their competitors embraced it. The CEOs of ModuWerkes watched helplessly as their competitors began to make aftermarket modular components. They had been shut out of their own product and forced to watch it succeed under the names of others.Years after the Insurrection, ModuWerkes finds itself in Imperial territory where less cumbersome laws allowed them to continue production of the modular ship system. Instead of simply continuing production from the old designs, ModuWerkes decides to improve on the modular system with advancements made in their other product lines that had kept them afloat during the legal battle. The Freedom II modular system's most noticeable improvement is the addition of airlocks that allow access to certain walk-in cargo containers. This was quickly picked up by HabiTech, who were first to put out a line of passenger modules for the freighter before the first production run of Freedom II components hit the market.
While they are not officially tied to the Empire, their freighters are commonly used by the Empire due to their adaptability and low maintenance costs.
