NOTE: this takes place about a year ago.
Not knowing what else to do, Sphinx ends up crying in her parents' arms.
The following morning, they suggest her seek Opal. While Slate had not outright said so, he seemed to imply he would have been okay with Sphinx as his apprentice, but couldn't take her in. Plato stressed she was to respect her elders' choices, but perhaps talking to Opal might give her enough peace of mind.
It... doesn't exactly go as he planned, though.
