Yes she has nine tails.Took a while doing it and i was doing this fox for a commission some time ago. . but it ended up in my hands and i feel like giving it a good home. . so if anyone would be interested on purchasing this 11"x14" Nine tail fox done im pencil and ink on paper give me a privet note and we will talk about it.

"kitsune" in japanese mean, literatly, "fox", and can mean a demon-fox, a spirit-fox, or a normal fox, and "kyuubi" is a demon-fox with anywhere from 2-9 tails, and the stregnth of a kyuubi is measured by the amount of tails he/she has.
now, there are alot of stories about kyuubi and kitsune, like asemo said, but both names show up in japanese culture.

ya, the fox's with lots of tails are called kitsune, the original one, like asemo said, she was turned into a nine-tailed fox by some god, and ya, he told you the story, but people in japanese culture looked at them as minor gods, and the more tails they had, the more power they had, and when one had nine tails, they were nearly invincible.
im not sure if they were demons or gods, becouse in different books, they see them differently, and in japanese culture, they were gods, but they couldve been wrong.

the japanese word for a fox is kitsune but the japanese name for a nine tailed fox is kyuubi
