Behold the crappiest Influence Map ever made
PIC SIZE DOESNT MATTER!!
It doesnt indicate that one influenced me more over another.
It's just me trying to get everything to fit somehow

There's tons of stuff that have influenced me one way or the other: books, certain songs, anime, cartoons, other artists (both on and off DA)-- the list is endless, really.
But i've included here some of my oldest influences and some of my most recent that i personally feel made a big impact on me.
So basically, the ones i could remember off the top of my head

NOTE:
One of my pet peeves (ie. what really pisses me off) is when someone compares my art to some other artist or some random character that i do not know.
When i draw inspiration from someone or something in particular, i try to make sure to say so in the Artists Comments to avoid accusations of theft and above all, to give credit where credit is due.
If i dont mention it in the Artists Comments, its because i didnt use it as inspiration, or i dont know it exists.
And i dont appreciate having comparisons forced on me.
Im aware my art style is pretty generic and resembles a lot of other artists work.
Im hoping this Meme will show people HOW and WHY my art style is the way it is.
Believe it or not, i've been drawing manga-style for 10 years (though not religiously), and im proud of my progress despite looking unoriginal.

1.) Pokemon
The first anime i ever saw, and my first real exposure to Japan. It started my life-long obsession, and i wouldnt be who i am today without it.
It provided the initial inspiration, rather than a physical influence on my drawing. Despite watching and loving Pokemon, I had not yet begun to draw manga-style.

2.) *Yami-Shin
One of my most favourite DA artists. Her art showed me how to bring life to my flat coloured drawings through shading and shine (especially on hair and eyes).
So far she is THEE one and only deviant artist that made such a big impact on my art. She was unknowingly a most influential teacher

3.) Vocaloids and Black Rock Shooter
The music, the videos, the character art and the BRS OVA.
Though to be honest, music and youtube videos in general are a big part of my life.

4.) Walt Disney
Much like Pokemon, Disney provides inspiration to me, rather than actual art influence. I've been watching Walt Disney films longer than anime. My love of Disney is intense, from classic to modern 8D

5.) Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt
Drawing in this style and taking Commissions forced me to explore a new style of lineart and colouring. I learned many little tricks and details that i apply to my own art-style now.

6.) Cult Fashion and General Quirkiness
Clothes, hair, make-up, art. I love neon-bright, bold colours, especially when they're set against black.
I also love stuff that's considered underground, alternative, quirky, etc.
I love a specific sort of style that's a bit hard to explain.

7.) Yu-Gi-Oh!
If Pokemon was my first anime viewing, then YGO was the first one that inspired me to draw manga (i was 11). It represented stereotypical anime to most Westerners, with its wild hairstyles, skinny limbs, huge eyes and tiny noses-- features i used in all my first anime drawings.
It formed the basis of all my manga art and there's probably a hint of it in my art today still.
(On a side-note, i accidentally discovered Yaoi for the first time looking up Yu-Gi-Oh! on the internet
Another major influence! )

8.) DOGS: Bullets and Carnage (manga)
DOGS is one of my more recent influences, so much so that i havent really had a chance to try it out or apply any aspect to my own work. The art-style is darker, grittier and more "realistic" than Pokemon, YGO or PASWG. In terms of anatomy and facial features/expression, to me it represents the style and high level of artistic skill id love to achieve someday.

9.) Tetsuya Nomura
THIS MAN IS GOD.
Everything he does is a massive inspiration to me.
Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and TWEWY in particular.
His art, his job, his life-- he's living my ideal dream life.
