Description

So I had this on my old DA and decided to repost and update it.

The STAV-Phoenix is a Single-Stage-to-Orbit cargo shuttlecraft capable of transferring cargo from any colony planet back into space (Specifically to the ICS).

For its capability, It utilizes a fusion engine for its lift making conventional rockets useless. It is capable to taking in 30 metric tons up/downmass (Depending on the stellar body's gravity).

But its special capability is its utilization of 3 turbojet engines, Two rotating engines on the back and another placed static on the front (Similar to modern fighter jetes), Making it transition between a planetary atmosphere and to space. The 3 turbojet engines allow VTOL capabilities which is most useful in first-time colonization where runways are not available, and for low-speed aerial survey and exploration.

It uses the two jet engines for lift off, and eventually reaching the troposphere to the exosphere, it then transitions to the powerful dual fusion engines for travel and maneuver to the I.C.S. The plume of the fusion engines are so bright, It can be seen at night even at 30,000 feet.

It can also act as gas harvesters which can harvest hydrogen in any planets atmosphere as it surveys, allowing slight refuel as it operates.
