Bakari is a young adult hyena born into the Jiwe clan under the tyrannical leadership of Queen Kamili and her two sisters. Fearing getting hurt, he is completely submissive and doesn his best to avoid conflict. Because of this, he hardly eats, even waiting until his more aggressive clanmates eat before taking a bite. Being born into the clan and knowing nothing else, he and the others feel helpless to the abuse of the Queen. He feels he could never leave on his own, due to the dangers outside the relative "safety" of a clan, and because he considers most of the clan family and would not want to leave them. His love interest is Asani, who tries to support him and embolden him to stand up for himself.

Finished one from the first round of reference sheets. I started the bases back in August so I already don't like how they look, but I've already made them, oh well. Maybe one day I'll make more.

Body parts that do not look specifically unique for certain characters have been shamelessly copied onto other bases. I'm not confident in my style yet and I don't want to cause any confusion with how each characters paws or shoulders look, for example. They are identical.
