Hey, more Ojamajo Doremi fanart! w00t.SOOO, the entire series basically spans a period of four years in the timeline (and four years of airing as well). The age difference between the Harukaze sisters of about 3 or 4.
By the end of the series, Pop is around the same age as Doremi at the beginning, yet by comparison, she's a FUCKING MIDGET. Oh God NO. This possibly adds to how much of a neglected character she is. Then again, it might be why I like her; I have a tendency to root for the underdog.
Anyway, this piece of fanart is a "corrected" height for OUR THE youngest Ojamajo (except for Hana, but she's a special case). From now on, whenever I draw older!Pop (which would be most of the time, as I prefer the redesign for all the characters), she'll be that tall. And the same goes if I ever draw any of her classmates.
Oh right, the eyes aren't OD style because I fail at those. Nothing to worry about.

They animators likely were too lazy to make Poppu grow up because she's apparently "less important" than Doremi and the others.

Yeah, Pop's aging could've been considered one of a number of things... my assumption was that there was some confusion amongst the artists as to whether keep the series as timeless (such as that of, let's say, Peanuts, or perhaps more like the Simpsons) or make the characters grow up.

Good call on the midget aspect. I suspect part of the reason for her lack of growth ties in with the fact that they just didn't want to do new animations of her - as a taller gal - transforming into the mujirushi witch outfit + performing the mujirushi spellcast. XD;;;
