There are at least three steps in the zombie virus going around these days.1. Loss of intelligence and necrosis of bodily tissue.
2. Development of special abilities by DNA mutation.
3. Turning into an action manga character.
Zombification seldom reaches the 3rd step, increasing its fatality rate to the extreme.
At least they are better off than the Outers.
