Yes, more cardinals done for commission. I wanted to try something different for the body positioning and in the process found out that males of the species will bring food to their mates during the breeding season for much the same reason that humans might bring treats to their mates on Valentine's Day (or some-such-similar). Although, I'm pretty sure that cardinals don't actually mate in the autumn.Related content

I'd like to see a yellow cardinal in the wild. Cardinals have perfect camouflage with the autumnal foliage.

I see those regularly due to them being Virginia's (and seven other states) official bird; there by being protected from intentional harm.

Yeah, he developed a taste for them early on. He could spot the orange ones with relative ease, but the brown ones regularly eluded him. Since they survived, they got to make more babies. Good thing they stillΒ get their color when they fledge.
