Here is my contest entry for the Strangers Like Me group contest, theme 'Summer Activities'. My favourite thing to do in the summer is BBQ and hang out in the sun! But I figured Tarzan et famille would not BBQ, so picnic instead :3.Tora is stepping through the apple pie, not dancing in it! It's based on the legend in my family that my little sister's first steps were through a quiche during a family picnic.
Terk is wondering how this is going to effect her apple pie eating prospects
I was going to try to do the picture in a slightly manga style, but as I progressed through it, doing that just made the characters look less like themselves -_- good beach though

aaww! so cute!! when i was in 2 grade (and now) i always thought they would have a daughter, exept, i called her Liza. i wrote down this story about her and her very big journey! it's just, i don't know how to do art like i want. but, yours is very awesomer than what i had in mind.

They didn't (in the cartoon). I read the first four or five Tarzan books, but I never much liked their son Jack/Korak. He seemed like a copy of Tarzan, only a less appealing one. The character of Miriem was lovely though, and led me to think Tarzan and Jane should have a daughter instead! Hence my fanart/fiction

In the books they had a son, Jack/Korak, but I never liked him much so I always draw them with a daughter. Disney never introduced their child in any of the movies (so far!).
Tarzan and Jane's characters are quite different in the Disney adaptation than in the original books. When I first started doing Tarzan fanart/fiction I did give them a son, but it didn't feel right - for me, the family dynamic worked much better with a daughter

Yes, and equally - how do you boil water for tea on the beach? XD I am guessing that they employed Msr Dumont's help in that, certainly for the ingredients, and probably for the baking as well. There is not much on that picnic mat that could be sourced from the jungle itself. Artistic licence!
