finally finished his reference.
this took quite a bit, i am trying to make more detailed art and based all the dragons on dinosaurs, Ignitus is based on an Allosaurus, i'm not sure why i picked an allo but eh, why not i think it suits the old man. colour wise Ignitus is basically the same, though i did add a couple more markings. the banner on the left is used for dragons with special occupations like masters of education, guardians, and the elder guardians. those three rings at the bottom are a way of identifying the dragons occupation, one for masters, two for guardians, and three for elder guardians. (the third one on his banner is a mistake)

i remember reading the Jared Pullen Q&A and it saying that Ignitus was intended to be 250, in the rewrite dragons can live double that of humans, that being 200 years at the most, and yes i know not many people live to one hundred but i wanted to keep the numbers simple. in this Ignitus is 180 years old, which translates to him being around mid 70s. he is the oldest out of all the guardians, though he doesn't show it often. Ignitus has an injured leg when Spyro and him first meet, this causes him to walk with a constant limp.

Personality wise he's still the old dad, however when playing the games i was always like "ok, but why the hell are they sending a child to fight". i know the guardians were all weakened which yes in the rewrite is part of the reason but the other reason is because in dragon society, especially the current one during the era of Malefor, children are often used as fodder, this is why Ignitus had a child squire, Pyra, and why Ignitus sends Spyro alone.
