The way teenage staxie stared down at the sudden intruder. A serious bewilderment that Beebie couldn’t hope to read though the sudden shock of his own. Golden eyes on a backdrop of shadow almost glistening like amber under flame as their gaze cast upon the stump. Pastel pink hair contrasting the duller greys of their coat. The glow of the fire behind them illuminating on their rim as they held in both hands a blade of which they appeared to be polishing.
All it took was a look. His eyes to meet eyes - not theirs but his own - blue tinged with surprise reflected back toward him in that polished metal. To all at once send him skittering back out of that door, barely managing to avoid colliding with his older sister as he harshly spun on his heels to escape the poorly thought out plan.

“Ok, but, like, what if it did though? Like one moment of like, I don’t know, not paying attention aaaand then, FWOOF!”
Silence
“Weeeeelllll?”
“What do you mean well? It just… Wouldn’t happen in the first place. Silly… What is this fascination with burning hair? Why is that your focus of the day?”
Staring
Stares back.
“Ok, if you must know then the forge stax would probably just pinch it out or something. I don’t know, I’m not a blacksmith. They probably have stuff in place for that though. Because you know. They kinda are a blacksmith.”
“Alright. But what if it couldn’t be pinched?”
“Literally just… throw yourself into the ocean at that point. It’s right there.”
“Don’t they have a big, big water bucket in the forge?” Dee mused aloud before letting out a little squeak of what could be assumed to be delighted surprise which Jaejay at first disregarded as just a standard run-of-the-mill Dee Dee noise.
“Oh, yeah. Probably that instead then. Fixed. Sorted. No more fire hair. Happy now?”
Yet his focus was elsewhere. Out of the corner of her eye, Jae could already see Dee trying to signal she wanted to climb up onto Beebie’s back as he stared vaguely off at the shoreline. All thought of the prior conversation - fire and all - seemed to have vanished from his eyes and he uttered a single word.
“…stack.”
“Beeb, what are you-” “…Ah.”
“EMERGENCY STACK!”
