Head Canon:Bubblee.
So basically, I have this idea that Marshall was given a car for his sixteenth birthday. Of course he didn’t have his license, but his parents were rather rich. So they could afford the early gift. Marshall was so excited about his car, but kept failing his test. He got his license when he was seventeen, but the car needed some repairs before he could drive it. Mainly, because it sat for so long. But he was never able to drive it because the mushroom war happened.
The car is now useless, and Marshall never did get to drive it. He often sits around in it though and just thinks. He’s never showed anyone but Bonni the car, and he took her their for their one year month anniversary.
He no longer visits the car, because it reminds him more of her than it does his childhood, and the “good days” anymore.
