Amazing... The true face of addiction at its worst. Couldn't be better, well done

The true face of addiction, like that of an addict in withdrawal, is the face of total need. In a word, "Wouldn't you?" Yes, you would... lie, cheat, steal from your family, betray your friends... anything for the next fix! [Wm. Burroughs explains 'the Algebra of Need']

Very effective piece...love the scuffed up textures...the arms folded, closing off the figure from the outside, depicts extreme self involvement(a trait of most addicts)...also like how the image calls to mind some of the Renaissance paintings depicting St. Sebastian perforated by arrows...nice allusion as many addicts see themselves as martyrs suffering from, and for,the pain caused by others...their self deluded justification for abusing themselves with their addictions...Nice work all around.

Awesome...if we plastered stuff like this all over school, no one would do drugs.
Sigh...oh well.

It's interesting how the subject seems to be hugging its self... Yet nothing inside, no heart. But colourful fragments of what there once was?
This is a thinker +fav

I do have to say that it is very eye catching... in a creepy but good sort of way.

i think my heart skipped a beat when i saw this. i mean it when i say this has to be the one image that i can relate to more than any other.
you've captured what addiction is truly like, and that is something i have seen nobody else do so insanely well. everything is represented here - the overwhelming agony of it all, the hole in the soul, that relentlessly hungry and all-consuming need that devours the mind and spirit, the relief of satisfaction, even the sick but very real affection for the substance i know all too well.
an utterly stunning and beautiful piece. you win.

Such powerful and emotional display. The needles along with the open mouth really add to the agony of being caught in a deep addiction. The gritty and noise in the background really add much to the intensity of the moment as well. Simply astounding.
