New Episode, "Yakity-Sax", timed somewhat weird?! Discovery Summer Special stuff doing weird stuff. Didn't expect Pony, but eh, we got pony through the official channel, so I was inclined to make some pony.
Not too long of a piece, 3 hours, but at least it didn't actually make sounds in those hours. So all good.
Sometimes pink works, and sometimes not, it's still a sometimes tricky color to work with, trying to keep it vibrant but not sticking out too much. I guess the anti-green with some green background was fun, tho.
Anyhow, the episode was ok. Twilight did kinda kick it off into a high ultimatum geez. Pinkie knows how to play most other instruments, but I guess her habbit doesn't work with this one? She needs a tutor if anything. Not exactly best to coldly tell her to just stop all together hah. She did care enough to actually listen, caring for her friend's thoughts, but it kinda backfired heh.
Some great faces throughout the episode, tho.

Pinkie was a bit of a Drama Rarity in this one, frankly. Yes, it hurts to hear from your friends that your playing is so bad it’s literally destructive, but she was acting like her life had no meaning without this instrument she’s never mentioned before.

Agreed. I can sympathize with her of course, but I still really thought she was acting rather immature (more than usual) about the whole thing, and it irks me a little that the episode basically enables her, letting her get away with it if not outright supporting it. I liked the message the episode was trying to convey, but there's better ways to convey it than this.
Plus, production-wise, the episode altogether felt a little half-hearted, honestly.

Hilarious work, dude. The episode was pretty weird, but not necessarily in a bad way. Yeah, things could have been handled a lot better, but at least Twilight listened to Applejack this time and Pinkie showed us once again how much her happiness depends on what her friends think of her. So... the episode had both character development and consistency!

Well done on the drawing. You handled Pinkie's passion about the instrument so well xD There's is some psychodelic vibe to it with Pinkie's looks and the background. I guess it's appropriate xD
As for the episode itself, umm...well I don't agree. Pinkie brought that on herself when invading anypony with her performances. Can't say I blame anypony for telling her to stop playing especially since they did give her time to practice until enough was enough. Anyway, to me that was fun episode

as for the episode, I agree it wasn’t the best. But at least they acknowledged that they went through the whole ‘lie to spare their feelings’ thing with celestia.
