Description I once again changed my headcanon for the last time though. This is my version of the Great Kings of the Past( and one Queen) going from the first king Macheo to king Mufasa.

Brief explanation of each ruler down below

King Macheo(Gen 1)
Macheo and his lionesses came from a distant land and no one knows for sure where they came from. At the time of his arrival there was already a pride of lions living at Pride Rock known as the Ndona but Macheo's pride overthrew them killing their king and exiling the rest to the Outlands. Macheo and about half a dozen lionesses became the new inhabitants of the newly named Pridelands. Macheo had children with all his lionesses which means that every Pridelander from the next generation on was his descendant. Macheo created a tradition where when his son reached adulthood they would fight to the death for the throne. As a result Macheo killed many of his sons until he was eventually killed in his old age by his son Jabori.

King Jabori(Gen 3)
Jabori didn't kill his father alone. He had the help of his litter mate Zuberi but after winning the fight Jabori realised there could be only one winner and killed his brother. Jabori then killed all his younger siblings. Unlike his father Jabori did not take all of the lionesses as his mates, only a select few. By then there were other males in the Pridelands who were Jabori's nephews(sons of Jabori's older sisters). Jabori like his father had a tradition of killing his sons. He was defeated in battle by his son Zuberi who refused to kill him.

King Zuberi(Gen 5)
Not long after Zuberi took the throne from his father, Jabori who was still alive, killed all his younger children to teach Zuberi a lesson about weakness. Zuberi exiled his father but less than a year later Zuberi found his father getting attacked by rogues. He saved his father and brought him back to Pride Rock for safety. The rogues though started hunting animals in the Pridelands and disrupting hunts. Their leader Wivu claimed he was the great grandson of the king that Macheo had overthrown and his attack on Jabori had marked exactly 100 years since Macheo had kicked out the original inhabitants of Pride Rock. Zuberi asked for peace and attempted to welcome the Ndona back into the Pridelands but Wivu wanted revenge. The rogues kept disrupting the Pridelands and Zuberi couldn't keep them at bay. After they killed one of his cubs he sent 4 males from Pride Rock to go find Askari. Askari was an older brother of Zuberi who had thought to have been killed by Jabori but his body was never found. Askari was the greatest fighter Zuberi had known and wanted his help. After a couple of months the males returned with Askari saying they had found him at a place called the Night Pride. While there Askari had attained the power of the roar of the elders and was originally going to be the future ruler with the niece of the current matriarch but after hearing about how his home was in danger he left the night Pride with the other males. Askari and the other 4 males formed the first lion guard and were a big help against the rogues. The war ended when Wivu and his main henchmen accidentally ran into the territory of a territorial bull elephant and were killed. This is where the idea of the Ukumbusho tradition came. As Zuberi got older only 3 daughters of his reached adulthood. One was already betrothed to a lion inside the Pridelands but the other 2 had no mates. There were 2 nearby kingdoms and he betrothed both daughters to future ruler of each kingdom. In return a lioness from each kingdom was betrothed to the future ruler of Pride Rock. Zuberi didn't have the heart to kill his sons and decided the future ruler should be his eldest son. At the time of his death though only 1 son was left, Balogun.

King Balogun(Gen 6)
Balogun was a cruel child and an even crueller king. At the very start of his reign he exiled all the males in the Pridelands except for Askari's guard( since he had no brothers they were still his guard) in order to expand the gene pool and encouraged lionesses to mate with rogues. He created the idea that in future generations there should only be 6 males in each generation that live there entire life in the pride, the monarch and the lion guard, and that makes weren't allowed to father cubs until they were picked to stay in the Pridelands. This is the nicest thing he is remembered for. A couple of years later he decided to expand his territory but conquering the 2 prides that were under the reign of his sisters. His wives were from those prides and were obviously angry. He solved that problem by killing his wives and cubs. Meanwhile, all males and cubs from the conquered prides were killed. The queens from each pride( his sisters) were taken to be his new mates. Askari's guard had their way with the other lionesses before casting them into the Outlands. Balogun would have many children with many lionesses, as soon as one of his queens died he would take a new lioness to be his mate whether she was a Pridelander or a Queen of a conquered territory. Roughly half way through his reign the members of the guard started dying out as they were really old and so the conquering stopped.

King Vekho(Gen 7)
Vekho was not the eldest son of Balogun. He was actually the last child Balogun had with one of his half sisters but at the time of his fathers death Vekho was the eldest living son, already in his 40s. Vekho, unlike his father, took one queen. He had helped some lionesses in the past have cubs but no legitimate cubs. At the time he took the throne all the lionesses in his generation were too old to have cubs so he decided to take a wife from the next generation. Vekho desired the lioness named Indodakazi who was one of his many half sisters. She agreed to be his wife as long as her 6 full brothers got to stay in the Pridelands. Because of the law he could only let 5 of her brothers stay and become the new guard and she accepted. As a result all the males from Vekho's generation left the Pridelands having fathered no children. All the other males from Indodakazi's generation were the sons of those in Vekho's generation and most of them were fathered by rogues. These males also had to leave. Then Vekho had to decide which of Indodakazi's brothers to exile as one of them would have to leave. The 2 eldest brothers Tatu and Davu decided to have a duel, the winner would become leader of the guard, the loser would go into exile. Davu won the fight and became leader of the guard. A year later a war started led by a lion named Kusho who was the current king of the Outlands. He was actually a legitimate son of King Balogun but his mother had seduced then later killed several of Vekho's older brothers resulting her getting exiled and later giving birth to Kusho. His army was made up lions who used to live in lands that were conquered by Balogun and outnumbered the Pridelanders. Vekho called back the males who had left last year and all returned except Tatu. The war went for over a decade and ended with Davu's guard sacrificing themselves to kill Kusho. Many years later many males of the next generation started disappearing including Vekho's own sons. Some were found dead and it was thought a rogue was killing them. The last 2 males of the next generation were Vekho's sons who were found dead in a ravine. Not long after Vekho's only daughter Kushoto found interest in a rogue and him and Kushoto were declared the future rulers of Pride Rock though Vekho suspected this male had killed his sons. When Kushoto's children were cubs Tatu returned. Vekho welcomed him back into the pride but Tatu warned him that Kushoto's husband might bring chaos into the Pridelands when he took over. Tatu suggested that the power should stay in the family and he should become the next king and Kushoto could be his wife. They came up with a plan which resulted in the death of Kushoto's cubs and her husband. Tatu and Kushoto were declared the future rulers and not long after, Vekho died.

King Tatu(Gen 8)
Tatu took not just Kushoto as his wife but also another one of his nieces named Mapenzi. At the very start of his reign all the other lions in the pride except for Tatu and his wives were killed and a new group of lionesses joined the pride. Nothing much else happened during his reign though near the end he decided to go on a conquest and overthrow a nearby kingdom. It was this conquest that got him killed.

King Mwanachama(Gen 10)
Mwanachama was the eldest son of King Tatu. He had all his brothers made up the new guard. He took 2 queens who were somewhat related to him. He finished his father's conquest and had the defeated exiled to the Outlands. Near the end of his reign a succession crisis occurred when he only had 3 legitimate daughters and the 2 main contestants to the throne were his bastard son and his nephew. Mwanachama came up with a solution when he found a rogue in the Elephant Graveyard.

King Hifadhi(Gen 11)
Hifadhi's reign was the beginning of a golden age. He introduced the mjuzi and the major-domo which ensured greater life expectancy. All cubs now reached adulthood because of him. He took all 3 of Mwanachama's daughters as his mates and fathering 6 sons. Hifadhi also created friendly relations with the hyenas. He had no guard but chose 5 males to stay in the Pridelands.

King Barasa(Gen 12)
His reign was mostly peaceful apart from the time one of his brothers killed all but one of his cubs. Barasa had difficulty choosing an heir which in turn lead to a civil war spanning generations.

King Mfalme(Gen 14)
Nephew of King Barasa he was the first king during the civil war and ruled for several decades before being toppled by Tumai.

King Tumai(Gen 15)
Grandson of King Barasa his reign was largely peaceful.

King Falsafa(Gen 16)
Son of King Tumai, he was a tyrant who had taken the roar for himself which lead to him getting overthrown.

King Isikhu(Gen 16)
Long lost son of King Mfalme, he and his brother overthrew Falsafa and Isikhu was crowned king.

King Ekundu(Gen 17)
Second son of King Isikhu and a grandson of Tumai he overthrew his father but reign didn't last long before he was overthrown by his half brother Inkosi.

King Inkosi(Gen 17)
Eldest son of King Isikhu his reign only lasted a decade before him and his cubs were killed leading to more civil war.

Queen Malkia(Gen 17)
Full sister of King Ekundu she lead one side of the war, the other being lead by a cousin named Takasa. She won but by now the Pridelands had been devasted. The population had dropped significantly, no males remained, no guard and the relationship with the hyenas had worsen. Malkia was left paralysed and so her rogue husband was the one giving out the orders.

King Mohatu(Gen 18)
Son of Queen Malkia, he tried to fix all the mistakes made during the wars. He was said to be one of the greatest kings up there with Hifadhi.

King Ajali(Gen 19)
Eldest son of King Mohatu his reign ended with the death of him and his only son which lead the throne to be passed on to his brother.

King Isithembiso(Gen 19)
Son of King Mohatu his reign was peaceful but unfortunately ended with the death of him and his son.

King Mufasa(Gen 20)
Taking over when he was a young adult he was a nephew of King Ajali and King Isithembiso but his father Ahadi was already dead so it went to him. Mufasa had to deal with his brother Askari(Scar) killing the guard. Mufasa's reign unexpectedly and resulted in Scar taking over

A bit longer than I expected especially with the older kings but I wanted to get all their info out as all of them were horrible kings. I wanted to elaborate further on the civil war but that would of taken me ages. I will at some point make a family tree showing all their relations.
