Part of a series of monthly illustrations done to improve my skills overall. December was Final Fantasy XIII's Lightning, in "Party Style". I decided to do a variation on Aya Brea's "Cheongsam" outfit from The 3rd Birthday, since I've been such a fan of stealing her outfits for Lightning. Fireworks in the background and a sandy beach fit Lightning pretty well in general, so a far as New Years goes, she was an obvious choice.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this project. I've learned a lot this year, and I think I've improved significantly. I didn't really mean or even want to make this final piece of the project a mirror of the first, but I think looking at them together, the improvement is clear. I thought I had a plan for a similar project next year, but I'm not sure anymore. It all comes down to theming, and if I can find a theme that I like.

Finally, expect more of Lightning from me next year - Final Fantasy XIII hits it's 13th anniversary overseas in March, and I've been replaying the game through December, so I'm motivated to make much more art of her.
