The event horizon has never been observed in its creation during the death of a star. Some think it may result in a quasar, others think it might just turn into a small concentration of mass just a fraction of the size it once was but hundreds to millions of times more dense. The gas and even some liquids are thought to likely be briefly pushed away from that central location during the actual change from star to blackhole and then within a short amount of time all of this matter rushes back to the newly created event horizon..... an event horizon is a singularity, an anomaly we have yet to understand in any capacity and while we can crunch numbers and come up with theories, there will likely be a very very long time before we have any solidified facts backed up by experimentation and proof.This is my idea of what it would look like as all the matter rushed back into oblivion.
