Valerie: Are you protecting that pathetic human girl?Deruela: Hmmm, she invited me for some strawberries a few days ago...And they were very tasty...
Unlike other Vampires, Deruela seemed quite protective towards the humans who lived around her, defending them from dark creatures,abominations and bandits alike. Our hunters, however, never came to those people's aid.
That makes her more dangerous than others, for the hunters won't get any help from the locals.

(Hmmm, a good example of how the evil CAN be compassionate. One of the problems with evil Overlords is that they tend to abuse and trample on their own subjects. The ones who know to be cruel to their enemies, but kind to those who bend the knee by choice and serve beneath their rule, are amongst the most dangerous.)
