One of the most dangerous situations that can happen when hiking in a gorge. Without it being noticeable here, it suddenly rained incredibly heavily further up the river. Within a short time the river begins to rise incredibly fast and rescue is hardly possible.
Battle ideas for an encounter:
Our heroes are wandering along the river and have been pursued by a group of druids for a while to avenge something from a previous session. One of the druids summons a rainstorm upstream. The water is slowly rising and before our heroes can get to safety, they are attacked by the druids in animal form. Most are in forms that favor the water, giving heroes an edge early on. But as the water rises, it becomes more and more deadly and desperate.
The goal of the encounter should be defeating the druids in general and which of the druids is responsible for the rain summoning in particular. Turning it off can stop the water from rising.
