Our heroes are crossing a mountain pass when they suddenly find the bones of elephants. A great general is said to have walked along here with these animals and thus achieved immortal fame. Ambush your heroes here and wage battle in this truly historic place.
Historical Notes:
What today is always hailed as a fantastic strategic maneuver was actually not that successful at all. On the one hand, the Romans were well aware that Hannibal was moving across the Alps and, on the other hand, only a single one of the dozen elephants reached the Roman region of Italy ... Here we see the remains of a maneuver that only became an important place of remembrance through its later tradition and mystification.
Hannibal's great achievements are rather his tactical skills, which allow his numerically inferior army to repeatedly defeat the Roman armies. Elephants played no role here. For the sake of accuracy, it should be said that this map here is also a fiction. All of his 37 elephants survived the crossing of the Alps. They found their death in the following winter months and when crossing an Italian river where some of the animals panicked and drowned.
