wow nick! technically- this is a great photo, good contrast and range from black-gray-white. i also agree, the expression on the guy's face helps make the meaning come through.

hehe, certainly there are many different types of need, and you captured an immediate sense of need very well. the subject reaching out twoards the viewer sets it apart from just being underneath sticks.

I'd say that dude "needs" help. Looks a bit more like "holy shit! I'm trapped under a bunch of sticks!"
