I used some photos to get the face done, doesn't look 100% like her though. I first did a pencil sketch of the face, then painted over it but removed all the brush strokes, so the traditional look is really gone XD;.The castle stuff was just by accident. I had no better ideas haha.

Wow, I'm definitively not a Harry Potter fan, but this is excellent and regardless of my views on the series I find this to be a great work of art.
You can see the confidence and ambition in her eyes and the maturity in her face, if the series had covers like this I think it would attract even more audiences, but then it would leave people wanting to see more of the illustrations and chapters and major events would end up being supplemented with illustrations depicting the event taking place.
Alot of times with publishing costs that would drive the price up, unless there was someone to sponsor in-part like advertisers and endorsers.
