In my opinion, Sunset is a very underrated character that needs more attention. I've always wanted a "Mane Seven" or maybe even a "Mane Eight" (With the addition of Trixie.). The more, the merrier!

Yes, she is quite an underrated character.
She had a lot of great potential (Celestia's former student who ran off/was exiled due to her own impatience, arrogance, and ambition has a lot of story potential), they just didn't use her all that great (except for as Sunset Satan).
She probably would be a lot more popular if she had shown up in the show proper as a villain, even if it still followed the same basic arc. I still love her though. Her design is one of my favorites.

and it controls the ocean using plasma
(lightning) because salty water is a great conductor of electricity , and a great example of the element of freedom, would be my oc, what I have as my icon, and if you go through
some of my art you'll notice she has a metal tail that keeps her safe from lightning strikes,
metal conducts electricity as well
