By the targeted insertion of DNA snippets, plants develop cell assemblies during the growth phase with which information processing is possible using electrical signals. Commands can be encoded in the DNA - similar to a program of a microprocessor in a flash memory. Plants can generate (bioluminescence) and receive light signals and use them to communicate with each other and with electronic devices. The information processing of a single plant is slower than today's microprocessors, but plants can reproduce themselves. And since the plants can communicate with each other, massively parallel information processing is possible.
