It's a cute pic,but you don't need to use your tablet all the time. If you still have pencils,paper,pens and coloring supplies; you can still make a really good drawing.

True, but this doesn't mean I didn't draw on paper, though if I spend too much time without practicing it takes hours to get back to it

That's why it's important to always keep a sketching book with you. Along with a bunch of pens and pencils.
