Pinkie Pie is Pyro and Spike is Soldier

It's a pretty widely held opinion, actually. Pinkie Pie just seems to match Pyro's insane yet funny personality (I agree), and Spike is just...I don't really know. He just looks funny as Soldier.

Pinkie Pie seems more fitting for the Heavy if you ask me, besides Spike is the only male character of the group, and since all the ponies are females, and the TF2 characters are males, it makes sense for Spike to be the one that's genderly ambiguous.

It's usually Big Mac as Heavy, and I kinda like it like that. Really, they share no personality traits, but BM simply being the biggest pony (side character, not like Roids Rage/Snowflake) seems valid enough.
And I just think Pinkie fits Pyro exceedingly well compared to any other contestants; they're both lunatics and starkly different from their friends (or mercs).

Yeah, but Pinkie sort of makes me think of the Heavy because of that scene at the end of Season 2 where she uses Twilight as a gatling gun, and her love of cupcakes is easily comparable to Heavy's love of Sandviches.

Well, ya see, Pinkie Pie and "Piero" are both crazy and have a fascination with sweets. Also, some people have Rainbow Dash or Derpy as Soldier.

it's a personality thing; both Pyro and PP have these insane yet funny personalities. Very quirky, yet unpredictable. No one really understand either of them.

I do agree that spike from the episode when he starts hoarding and grows bigger would also make a good heavy though. (possibly that as BLU heavy and Big Mac as RED heavy?)

Some people have Spike as the Pyro and Twilight as the Engineer since he and Twilight are the most educated/well-read members of their group of friends/mercenaries, and also because Pyro/Engineer is an excellent combo. (Zecora is now the Sniper since he has some "tribal" weapons such as the Tribalman's Shiv, Huntsman, and the Razorback.)
