I've always enjoyed a good colorful design but I usually tend to more subtle 1 color (plus its variants of course) designs. I was messing around with a basic image effect when I decided to turn it into a background for a web page and build around it.I thought it worked out really well!
The downside is that I almost finished a more complicated (and time consuming) design and this has inspired me to dump the entire thing a redesign.
Oh well...

Cool idea, but I think the background image may need a bit of work. Give it a bit of depth/blur perhaps and allow it to extend to the top of the page. Just some ideas if your interested
