After Sonic got on the battle ship, he notice Shadow out of nowhere. They were both shocked on how alike they look.
Eggman: “Hello Sonic, glad to see you. I would like you to meet Shadow, He’s the ultimate mutant hedgehog lifeform. Hope you 2 can play along.”
Sonic: I've found you, faker!
Shadow: Faker? I think you're the fake hedgehog around here. You're comparing yourself to me? Ha! You're not even good enough to be my fake!
Sonic: I'll make you eat those words!
Shadow: You won’t even get the chances
Both Sonic & Shadow good fighter, & like Sonic unknowingly,
Shadow possesses an inherent connection to Chaos energy, and can utilize Chaos power. But with the inside of Sonic, he learns Shadow’s every move & manages to defeat him. After the fight, Sonic saw Shadow slipping of the ship & went to save him before he falls down.
Sonic: “Gotcha! You ok?”
Shadow: “…Yeah”
Sonic: “Phew, you’re not a bad fighter pal; Not bad at all”
Shadow: “Same too you. But why would you save me? Ain’t I’m your enemy?”
Sonic: “You were in trouble, I can’t just leave you hanging. Besides, I was just trying to help a friend. You don’t seem like a bad guy dude, but Egghead does; I don’t know what he said told you, I wouldn’t trust him if I were you. But I’ll let you find out yourself. Peace!”
That heroic act & Kindness Sonic showed got Shadow thinking.
Shadow: (“He doesn’t seem like a bad guy either, I knew shouldn’t trust the doctor. So then what’s he really up too? Maybe I should find out myself.”)
