Composition in this one is bleh, but it's been sitting uncolored on my hard-drive for a while, so I decided to pop it into OpenCanvas for a few hours and see what happened.If you've not had the...ehh... "distinguished" pleasure of meeting him yet, this is Iben, my gemsbok character. He's a grumpypants.

Iben is so cool. I normally don't like anthros that aren't wild canines or procyonids, but gemsboks are so cool. I've been considering making a character of one for a while, and this pretty much prompted me to go ahead and do it.

He looks pretty hardcore... especially with a knife wound to his neck...
Nice atmospere to this one though... The background is simple, yet really seems to mesh well and complete the image... like neither the subject nor the environment are competing for attention here... Also⦠I <3 gemsboks.

I wish I could do backgrounds like you. I like how it's simple, brings attention to the foreground, and yet realistic? All the colors mixed in there fit so well, and if you concentrate on Iben, the desert and sky look like a photograph. Mrr... ;__; You're amazing.

Awww, sankyoo! I actually referenced it off of a couple of photographs, but I think painting it freeform-like without lines in OC helps the overally effect a bit.

Simpel but perfect! It has a beautiful desert atmosphere and adding the staff just gets the final brush.
He also looks like a Star Wars jedi, but thatΒ΄s another story, lol.
