Another refined picture from a sketch that's for a nations game of the setting run by
Bear in mind, the game that passed took place in Sector 5 of the FCZ and may / may not be fully incorporated into the actual canon, so take what is seen with these pictures past and present with a grain of salt.

Shortly after the declaration of war between the Azen Empire and Terran Federation, going in for a 2nd time, many planets began broadcasting their allegiances after the broadcast, but not beforehand. Many kept quiet about who they supported before the news broke. The Federal Republic of Muromets was not one of these planets, having sided with the Terrans during the 1st war. When the 2nd war began and the planets showed their true colours, Muromets found that the nearby planets of Almian, Bratlize, Haleon and Imirilla were Azen supporters.

Almian would be the first to fall under Muromets's jurisdiction after a combined naval siege followed by invasion by a combined force of coalition and mercenary ships. Shortly after the planetary government capitulated to Muromets, Check Mate Solutions was contracted to help secure stability on the planet. The PMC sent it's newly built Invasion Transport loaded with 5000 personal and all the weapons, gear, vehicles and supplies that they were going to need for extended operations.

The operators were expecting trouble and possible riots, rebellions and uprisings, however due to the way Muromets handled the diplomacy, there was little to no fighting shortly afterwards. What started as Checkpoint guards and potential riot control relaxed down to filling holes left by the brief conflict in roles of law enforcement, border and quarantine control and search n rescue. Almian wouldn't see conflict until an unknown 3rd party attempted to insight a rebellion much later on, but failed.

Three individuals stood at the security checkpoint in the capital city of the planet Almian; 2 humans and one Marauder War droid used to supplement manpower for the PMC. It was a pretty quiet day, so quiet one of the mercs had lit up a cig to enjoy. The other was staring at the droid, questions circling inside his head.

"You stare at that hard enough and you'll melt the droid." The merc with the cig quipped.

"I have to ask; Why the smiley face?"

"Bob's idea."

"Huh?"

"As Bob puts it; Everyone's used to seeing scary things on the battlefied. War paint, camo, shark teeth, ya know, the usual."

"Yeah?"

"Well what if you saw something out of the ordinary? Something unusual? Bob thinks that by painting things like flowers, rainbows and smiley faces, things not seen on the field, that it'll make whoever we face have a split second of thinking to themselves 'What on earth?' and hesitate. And it's that hesitation that'll be their undoing, as all it takes is a split second of thinking or inaction to turn the tide of a fight."

"Huh... maybe Bob's onto something."

"Maybe. Or maybe Bob's just messing with everyone in his own way."
